This Privacy Policy describes how Waxwing Holdings, LLC, doing business as Hello Camcorder ("Hello Camcorder," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you visit, interact with, or place an order on hellocamcorder.com (the "Site").

Personal Information We Collect

Device Information

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. As you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as "Device Information."

We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

Footage You Submit

When the camcorder is returned, we receive the footage recorded on the memory card. We treat this footage as your personal content. See "Footage Handling" below for details.

When we talk about "Personal Information" in this Privacy Policy, we mean Device Information, Order Information, Newsletter Information, and Footage.

How We Use Your Personal Information

We use the Order Information we collect to:

  • ▸Fulfill orders placed through the Site (processing payment, arranging shipping, providing invoices and order confirmations).
  • ▸Communicate with you about your order.
  • ▸Screen orders for potential risk or fraud.
  • ▸When in line with the preferences you've shared with us, provide you with information or advertising about our products or services.

We use Device Information to:

  • ▸Help screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address).
  • ▸Improve and optimize the Site (for example, by generating analytics about how customers browse and interact with the Site).
  • ▸Measure the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns.

We use Newsletter Information to send marketing emails about new products, promotions, and content. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.

Sharing Your Personal Information

We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use that information as described above. The categories of third parties include:

  • ▸Site hosting and infrastructure providers (e.g., Vercel) that run the Site.
  • ▸Payment processors that handle payment information.
  • ▸Shipping carriers (UPS) that deliver and return your camcorder.
  • ▸Analytics providers (e.g., Google Analytics) that help us understand Site usage. You can opt out of Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
  • ▸Advertising partners (e.g., Meta/Facebook, TikTok, Google Ads) that help us serve targeted ads. We share limited information with these partners through pixels and tracking technologies for advertising purposes.
  • ▸Email marketing platforms that help us send and manage newsletters and promotional emails.
  • ▸Editing freelancers and contractors who edit your raw footage into your recap. They are bound by confidentiality obligations.

We may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant, or other lawful request for information, or to otherwise protect our rights.

Footage Handling

This is a special category of Personal Information and we treat it accordingly.

  • ▸Ownership. You retain ownership of all footage you submit to us.
  • ▸License for service. When you submit footage to us by returning the camcorder, you grant Hello Camcorder a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to edit, store, and deliver the footage in order to fulfill the services you have requested.
  • ▸Marketing use is opt-in. We will not use your footage for marketing, advertising, or public promotion unless you have explicitly granted us permission — for example, by checking the marketing-use box at checkout or by signing a separate written release.
  • ▸Access. Only Hello Camcorder team members and editing contractors who need to access footage to fulfill your order can view it.
  • ▸Retention. We delete raw footage 6 months after your Camcorder Arrival Date. If you'd like us to delete it sooner, email us and we'll handle it.
  • ▸Withdrawing marketing consent. If you previously gave permission for marketing use and want to revoke it, contact us at support@hellocamcorder.com and we'll stop using your footage for that purpose going forward.

Behavioral Advertising

As described above, we use your Personal Information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe may be of interest to you. Please note that we do not alter the Site's data collection and use practices when we see a Do Not Track signal from your browser.

Your Rights

By using our Site, submitting audio or video files, or interacting with our services, you consent to the collection, use, and processing of your Personal Information as described in this Privacy Policy. Data Retention

We maintain Order Information for our records for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements — unless and until you ask us to delete it. Raw footage is deleted 6 months after the Camcorder Arrival Date as described above.

Data Security

We protect your Personal Information using industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit and at rest where appropriate, secure payment processing through our payment provider, and restricted access to sensitive information. While we strive to protect your Personal Information, please note that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

Data Breach Policy

In the event of a data breach affecting your Personal Information, we will notify affected users as soon as reasonably possible and comply with all applicable legal requirements. We will work to identify the breach, mitigate risks, and prevent future occurrences. If you have concerns about a potential data breach, please contact us immediately at support@hellocamcorder.com.

Children's Privacy

Our services are intended for adults age 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.
